Publicly owned and operated, Lafayette Utilities System (LUS) provides the City of Lafayette with electric, water, and wastewater services that are among the lowest priced in the state. Other private companies provide electrical power, natural gas, and waste disposal to municipalities in Lafayette Parish. LUS Fiber provides some of the fastest internet in the world to customers in the City of Lafayette and some surrounding areas— with speeds up to 10 Gbps.
